This weeks Studio Friday (well I’m late, so it’s a few days ago) is about being proud of a piece of art that hasn’t been in the ‘lime light’. For me, I think it’s my “Key to my heart” piece, which kicked off my art sales for 2006. It was the first piece that got me out of my shell, to show and sell, and really jump started me for the rest of the year. It hung in an alphabet show and sold quickly, so I am proud of that. I was the letter K in the show….
It’s acrylic on stretched canvas. The K is is plexi-glass that I painted (on the reverse side). The heart is paper clay that I formed by hand, then painted, and the key and key hole are metal additions to finish it off.

Happy New Year
Monday, January 1st, 2007Happy new year! I had a nice new year in, getting movies, making special snacks etc. I got invited out, but I like it quiet these days.
So how about those resolutions? Last year mine was to make way more art, and I did – so that’s cool. This year I want to spend more time with my friends and keep in touch with those that are not here. I really need to do that. I want to see how long I can go at doing a photo a day too – so that means I’ll be posting it here if it happens. Wish me luck!
Last night I downloaded some new wallpapers for my desktop and found one that looks like my cat Mew. Then when my screen saver came on, it was awesome – it looked like she was looking through aquarium glass. I snapped a photo with my phone:
