After 3 whole days and 2 nights in the vet hospital, he’s finally home! He had blocked colon some kind of parasite in his intestines, and he was barfing for 24 hours straight. He got severely dehydrated because he would throw up any water and/or formula I squeezed in his mouth with the syringe. He was even getting cold – he was on death’s door that’s for sure. I was freaking out. I was crying my eyes out, seeing him lying on that cold, stainless steel table, lifeless. It happened so fast too, in one day he was running around here like a holy terror, then next day he was throwing up non-stop.

Goliath is Home!!!
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008Sick Kitty… an auction to help & a freebie for thanks
Sunday, July 27th, 2008
Oh my poor little Goliath is sick and still at the ‘hospital’. The vet said he would call me today if I could come pick him up, but no call. I am sitting on pins and needles waiting to talk to them, when they get back in the office tomorrow.
I’m wracking up quite a vet bill, so it would be really great if you checked out my auctions. I’ve got prices slashed on the great magazines I carry in my shop and will be adding some supplies as well. OR you could have a nice little shopping spree at my shop at www.artwerx.us!
Thank you!! OH and as a thank you for your generosity in helping to raise money for his bill, let me know in the check-out either in my shop or in my auction that you are “Helping Goliath” and I’ll include a free sheer, house shaped mini album with your order!
Just do it
Sunday, July 20th, 2008This is my first painted face… I finally got decent pics of it. It’s not perfect – her nose is crooked, her eyes don’t match, but that’s OK. At least I took the plunge – that what we have to do… quit taling about stuff and just do it.
I painted the background first, then the face. I added rub-on letters spelling ‘imagine’ and some punched out dragonflies are the finishing touch, distressed a bit with more paint. It’s done on a 12×12 box box lid (wood). Her cheeks are blushed, but it’s not showing up – I don’t know why.

Where does the time go?
Sunday, July 20th, 2008Wow – it’s already late, Sunday afternoon – where does the time go? I spent the weekend doing some digital scrapbooking… started 2 little mini paintings… and have been doing some photo re-shoots of Toby and Max jewelry (my ‘day’ job). I’ll post them as soon as I get them loaded on the site (and a link in case you want to shop for cool stuff) Time has just slipped away so fast this weekend.
I’m so excited, I finally got a KitchenAid mixer. It was on clearence for $299, then 60% off that price, then another 15% off that for my hubby’s employee discount – woo hoo! They only had white ones left, but at that price, I’m not complaining.
Another kitten pic…. (since my g-baby is so far away and I don’t have any new pics of her) …

Drat…

Friday, July 18th, 2008Most kitties perk up and run to the kitchen when they hear the can opener… not my kitten… when he hears the water run at the sink and/or the microwave, he runs into the kitchen in full gear.
When Goliath sees me at the sink, he assumes I’m making his formula. He cries and cries, like he’s never eaten before in his whole life. I think I was doing the dishes in this shot… and he cried himself to sleep, waiting for his formula to be mixed up.

Simone … my little french cutie
Thursday, July 17th, 2008Hooray – she’s done and I’m pleased as punch with her. She’s mod and loves poppies ;)

What’s for dinner
Monday, July 7th, 2008Once in a blue moon I feel like cooking. Four and a half hours of cooking, 30 minutes or less to eat – jeepers! My niece Sarah has the right idea…. she doesn’t make anything that takes longer to eat than cook, lol.

Have you met Goliath?
Sunday, July 6th, 2008Tyler was driving down the road with his buddy when they spotted this tiny kitten, all alone on the sidewalk. Of course he brought him home.
Since then, almost 3 weeks later, he's a holy terror. He and Gizmo, my other tuxedo cat, have discovered that my paper towel is just too easy to pull down into thier basket in my studio...
