Some new work is almost done. I’m layering resin with paint for some new dimension. It will cure enough to take the tape off overnight, but a few days to really harden up. There are a few days of rain in the forecast so it might need extra time.

back in the game…
Sunday, July 24th, 2011I have had more than my share of blog tech troubles, but I’ve reinstalled, updated, etc etc and I should be back in the game now :) So rather than recap the past, I’m just going to start fresh.
I worked my shift at the gallery today, and while it was a quiet Sunday morning, I pulled my trusty travel watercolors out of my purse and played around. Of course a weed grew on my page… I’m still in that kick, so I decided to have fun with it and use all kinds of colors on the leaves.

I’m a day late taking pictures because the light was too bad last night. This is the last of my cards for a while… I’m pretty well stocked up. These little gems have ‘snow’ on them. Too cute.
Tonight I hope to get to my beads and work on some jewelry.

Thursday, November 4th, 2010Here we are at day 4. I missed day 3 because I was out of town all day, but I did shop for art supplies, so that counts right? LOL
Today I’m working on greeting cards. Here are some in progress. A stamp by Memory Box with watercolors. Today I ordered teeny tiny pom poms today for thier hats. OMG they will so cute. I’ll show pics when they are complete.
Art Every Day Month… day 2
Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010I have a wee bit of purple to add in yesterday’s painting, under a flower, on the advisement of my teacher, but I’m not working on that today.
Today I started a new painting… because it was class day. Today we did wet on wet. I forgot to sketch something out ahead of time, so I decided to whip up something cute for my g-baby, Ava. Maybe she would like an owl for her wall?
OK, so this is NOT finished… it’s about mid-way. Several layers of color have been gingerly painted on all-over wet paper, ‘willy nilly’ style. Then I started to define the owl a bit more, bringing out his eyes a bit. Next I’ll do leaves and maybe some fun flower shapes on it’s body. For class we were suposed to leave this strictly paint on paper, but I might have to add some fun things with a pen and maybe a dash of acrylic. I’m a mixed-media gal after all, so I gotta do what the heart tells me, lol.
I’ll post more, next week when I get around to finishing it.

Well I thought I was finished this watercolor, but I can’t leave well enough alone. I’m still working on it and this is what I have so far…
High as a kite
Saturday, August 7th, 2010… from an unbelievable week in the gallery. A great guy came into the gallery to furnish his vacation rentals with local art. He’s purchased several pieces from our gallery already and yesterday was my lucky day. I had hung new work on Monday, and he loved all the color and purchased 2 of my biggest pieces. Then I got a phone call this morning and he commissioned another painting. I’m thrilled beyone measure! I will have 3 paintings in his vacation rentals. Sweet.
All my pottery acorns sold on Etsy last night too. And I sold a mixed-media beach haning and a small ‘weeds’ painting the other day. Phew! Looks like I can pay the rent after all, LOL.
I’ve been practicing gratefulness and the power of positive thinking and it’s working. I’ve also been sure to do some give-aways, art for charity auctions, etc – because it’s important to give back. Karma is rewarding me, which is a real treat!!! and a switch ;)
