Some new work is almost done. I’m layering resin with paint for some new dimension. It will cure enough to take the tape off overnight, but a few days to really harden up. There are a few days of rain in the forecast so it might need extra time.

A third “birdcage” doll made, and my favorite so far. I’m happy with her dress, and the little mushrooms were fun to make. The moss covered rocks are a ‘faux’ version, so there is no upkeep needed. Tons of fun, I hope you like it. (click on pic to see full size images)
I’ve listed her in my Etsy shop – click here to read about her details.
If you are interested in learning how I create my birdcage dolls, let me know. I’m thinking of doing a class.
She’s signed, sealed and ready to be delivered :)
Available in my Etsy shop right now :)
Try this video again… the first time I uploaded it – it only showed a quarter of it. It should all be here now… my son, my g-baby, and my art.
She’s my latest painting. I did her in a style I Have not done before, and it’s by far my favorite method so far… I think I found “my style”. I have used all my fave methods and combined them into one style … acrylic paint (made translucent like water color), wood burning the outline, adding in paper like always, but the best part is something new I tried…. instead of using acrylic paint on her face, I left it ‘naked’ and only used my wood burner and some pastel chalks to giver her life. I love the effect. Acrylic paint is used on her eyes, lips and hair – to make them pop.

I need to finish her shirt, then get her photographed with my good camera – this is just my camera phone (her background is showing blue, but it’s really more green) and she’ll be for sale on Etsy. I need to go the fabric store for some organza for her shirt, this weekend.
I think these would make cute illustrations for a kids book – I must have been inspired by sweet baby Ava.
Painted on birch wood, all the outlines have been pain-stakingly burned in, acrylic paint, water color pencil, and paper used also.
Moon…

Sun…

I have two more in sketches that need to be painted (when I can get more wood)…. wind and rain.
Well you know me and journals… I love to collect them, but I’m not good at keeping at it. I guess I’ll have to make an exception for art goddess Suzi Blu. For Suzi Blu… I would do anything ;)
Part of our homework is to create a healing art journal. Nuturing our feelings while we do our art is important to Suzi, so the journal is required. I made mine from paper bags, binding it with those circluar binder clips so I can add more pages if needed (ha!), and tying it up with fun ribbons. The built in pockets from the opening of the bags lends itself to tucking in my sketches, poems, or whatever. Fun!

1. homework: healing art journal * side, 2. homework: healing art journal, 3. homework: healing art journal * binding
Oh check out that clear ribbon in the last pic… that’s new in my shop! (shameless plug)
This is a re-post. Drat… I’m having to try to remember what I posted here, since it crashed. OK, I’ll try….
Thanks to Amber for posting her challenge….
I’m thankful for my oldest son choosing the better path to walk down in life… and thankful that my youngest son didn’t get seriously hurt from the car accident he was in.
I’m giving you all 2 ATCs that you can click on, then print. Cut them out for ATCs or stick a magnet on the back to spruce up your studio or work space. Enjoy!
