Goliath, destroyer of light, discovered bubbles tonight and he can’t get enough. When we came in the house, he spent the next few minutes crying at the door to go out and get more…. Like that shrimp in Finding Nemo “My Bubbles! My Bubbles!”

That darn cat

Our little darling Goliath was back in the hospital again… a 3 day stay, hooked up to IV again. He’s home now and feisty as ever. I’m in utter shock that I can get his antibiotics down him each night. I learned how to pop pills into a cat from a Martha Stewart segment and it works like a charm. Good ol’ Martha!
I’ve got to get some art sold… his little medi-emergency was no cheap ticket! I’ll post goodies for sale over the weekend too. Some art, some supplies… pretty much whatever I’ve got, LOL.
UPDATE AS OF MARCH 20th: Goliath continues to be sick and dehydrated, but showing signs of improvement. We are forcing him to drink by squirting water into his mouth with a syringe every few hours and he’s on new medicine now. He has a good day where he’s up and playing, then a bad day where he sleeps the whole day. He’s been back to the vet again, where they took more blood and sent it to Oregon State University for more testing. The bills are swallowing up my savings that I need for tax time… but what can I do? I love the little bugger… he’s our family. I can’t let money determine if he lives or dies. At least as long as I can help it!!
That darn cat
Wednesday, September 17th, 2008So I’m sitting at my computer… uploading pics off my camera and I see a flash run by me, with a whole lot of noise…. It’s got to be Goliath, our kitten with enough spunk for four cats. And it was… my son had been the dentist and you know that little bag of goodies they send you home with? The toothbrush, flosser and mouth wash, in the ‘irresistible’ crinkly celo bags? Goliath (who steals everything, and runs with it) had hopped up on the table and snagged this bag and was dragging it through the house (it was too big for him to carry) at the speed of sound. He’s nuts.
Here’s his new sleeping spot…

Goliath is Home!!!
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008After 3 whole days and 2 nights in the vet hospital, he’s finally home! He had blocked colon some kind of parasite in his intestines, and he was barfing for 24 hours straight. He got severely dehydrated because he would throw up any water and/or formula I squeezed in his mouth with the syringe. He was even getting cold – he was on death’s door that’s for sure. I was freaking out. I was crying my eyes out, seeing him lying on that cold, stainless steel table, lifeless. It happened so fast too, in one day he was running around here like a holy terror, then next day he was throwing up non-stop.
Sick Kitty… an auction to help & a freebie for thanks
Sunday, July 27th, 2008
Oh my poor little Goliath is sick and still at the ‘hospital’. The vet said he would call me today if I could come pick him up, but no call. I am sitting on pins and needles waiting to talk to them, when they get back in the office tomorrow.
I’m wracking up quite a vet bill, so it would be really great if you checked out my auctions. I’ve got prices slashed on the great magazines I carry in my shop and will be adding some supplies as well. OR you could have a nice little shopping spree at my shop at www.artwerx.us!
Thank you!! OH and as a thank you for your generosity in helping to raise money for his bill, let me know in the check-out either in my shop or in my auction that you are “Helping Goliath” and I’ll include a free sheer, house shaped mini album with your order!
Where does the time go?
Sunday, July 20th, 2008Wow – it’s already late, Sunday afternoon – where does the time go? I spent the weekend doing some digital scrapbooking… started 2 little mini paintings… and have been doing some photo re-shoots of Toby and Max jewelry (my ‘day’ job). I’ll post them as soon as I get them loaded on the site (and a link in case you want to shop for cool stuff) Time has just slipped away so fast this weekend.
I’m so excited, I finally got a KitchenAid mixer. It was on clearence for $299, then 60% off that price, then another 15% off that for my hubby’s employee discount – woo hoo! They only had white ones left, but at that price, I’m not complaining.
Another kitten pic…. (since my g-baby is so far away and I don’t have any new pics of her) …

waiting
Friday, July 18th, 2008Most kitties perk up and run to the kitchen when they hear the can opener… not my kitten… when he hears the water run at the sink and/or the microwave, he runs into the kitchen in full gear.
When Goliath sees me at the sink, he assumes I’m making his formula. He cries and cries, like he’s never eaten before in his whole life. I think I was doing the dishes in this shot… and he cried himself to sleep, waiting for his formula to be mixed up.
